What GMC model is right for me?
GMC’s SUVs and pickup trucks are basically an upscale version of their Chevy cousins. GMC models are high-end and packed with luxury features. The automaker makes models that compete in the various SUV classes, as well as multiple truck markets. If you are not sure of the exact GMC model to fit your needs, here are a few you may want to consider:
- GMC Acadia: The Acadia is a midsize-crossover SUV with distinctive and handsome looks. A used Acadia will come with either a 4- or 6-cylinder engine. Some will have front-wheel drive, while you can also find Acadia models with the optional all-wheel-drive. Later model used Acadias come with a nice list of driver-assist and infotainment technology.
- GMC Sierra: The Sierra represents GMC in the pickup segment. Used Sierra can be found in a variety of trim levels, from the basic work truck model, to the top-of-the-line Denali. There are three possible engines for the Sierra - a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8 and for the most in power and towing ability, a 6.2-liter V8, which comes on only SLT and Denali models. Transmissions will vary between a 6-speed automatic and an 8-speed automatic. Most used Sierra can tow around 7,600 pounds, but the 6.2-liter V8 can pull up to 12,500 pounds.
- GMC Terrain: The Terrain is a small SUV with a large amount of power. You will find one of three powertrains of used Terrain models, including a diesel. This is a great choice if you want something with a sharp exterior look and a cabin filled with great and modern features. There is even an underfloor storage area to add to your regular cargo space.
